We have two words in our text today: skismata which means to tear, rend, or divide and katertizo which means to mend, fix, or make perfect. Paul pleads with us to lay aside the wisdom of man which divides and rejoice instead in the foolishness of the cross of Christ which through the forgiveness of sins makes whole that that which man has torn apart.
